CPCWHS1001 - Prepare to work safely in the construction industry or General Construction Induction Card - known as the White Card - is required to enter and work on construction sites in Australia. It is essential for anyone looking to work in the construction industry, is nationally recognised and can be used anywhere in Australia.
The potential risks involved within the construction industry have highlighted the importance for workers to be knowledgeable about safe work practices, risk management, personal protection, safety signs and safety equipment.
From February 2019, training for the white card must be undertaken face to face in Queensland, unless you live further than100 kilometres away from the nearest RTO.
Course outline:

Identify Health and Safety legislative requirements of Construction Work

Identify construction hazards and risk control measures
-
Identify health and safety communication and reporting processes
-
Identify incident and emergency response procedures
Am I eligible?

No minimum age requirement, provided you can provide the Evidence of Identity documents

Have basic English and Maths skills (to be able to identify and interpret workplace signs and apply yourself to the course material).

Certification:
On successful completion of the theory and practical assessment, students will receive:

a Statement of Attainment for Prepare to work safely in the construction industry nationally recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework
-
a photographic white card.
You will also be provided with all course materials, including a Learners Guide, sample rescue plans, sample safe work method statements, and self assessment materials.
What to bring:
Appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment):

workwear (hi-vis if you have it)

safety hardhat (optional)

a broad brimmed sun hat and water bottle is recommended
