What IS the "Building and Construction Industry"?

CSQ funding covers the Queensland Building and Construction industry which INCLUDES Residential and Commercial Projects:

  • Construction

  • Significant Renovations

  • Extensions

So if you are doing interior or exterior installation services like the following you would be an eligible worker for CSQ funding:

  • ​air conditioning and refrigeration

  • bricklaying and blocklaying

  • brick and segmental paving

  • cabinet making

  • carpentry

  • concreting

  • installing fire doors, collars, penetrations, walls and ceilings

  • installing glass, glazing and aluminium

  • joinery

  • painting and decorating

  • plastering and drywall

  • solid plastering

  • wall and ceiling lining

  • wall and floor tiling

  • floor finishing and covering

  • plumbing and drainage, and mechanical services

  • gas fitting

  • roof and wall cladding

  • roof tiling

  • roof plumbing

  • waterproofing

  • kitchen, bathroom and laundry installation

  • installing sheds carports and garages

  • shopfitting

  • steelfixing

  • stonemasonry

  • structural landscape and landscape construction

  • foundation piling and anchors

  • trenchless technology

  • demolition

  • electrical works

  • construction site cleaning, builders cleans, construction cleaning for new homes and renovations 

CSQ Funding also INCLUDES the Queensland Civil Construction Industry:

  • Land development

  • Site Preparation

So if you are doing works on Civil Infrastructure you would be an eligible worker for CSQ Funding:

  • Roads

  • Utilities - water, electrical

  • Bridges

  • Tunnels

  • Dams

  • Pipelines

What is NOT the
"Building and Construction Industry"?

The following list outlines examples of industries that fall outside the Building and Construction Industry definition for CSQ funding:

  • Automotive

Vehicle repairs and maintenance including Mobile plant machinery

 

  • Arts, Culture, Entertainment and Design

Theatre productions including stage and set services
Live Production Services
Film and Television production including studio, stage and set services

  • Amenity Horticulture and Landscaping

Arboriculture

Gardening Services
Turf and Sports Turf Management
Retail Nursery and Nursery Production

  • Amusement Leisure & Recreation

Aquatic Attractions
Events and Festivals
Go Karting, Indoor Play & Family Entertainment Centres
Theme Parks and Outdoor Attractions
Manufacturers and Professional Services supplying the industry .
Transportable Rides and Attractions
Engineers related to the industry

 

  • Maritime

Marine Industry General Purpose Hands
Coxswains, Marine Engine Drivers, Engineers, Surveyors
Deck Officers, Ships Masters, Cooks, Integrated Ratings
Marina Operations

  • Metal, Engineering and Boating

Primary Metal and Metal Product Manufacturing

Government Owned Corporations
NOT the "Building and Construction Industry"

Construction Workers in Government Authorities or Government Owned Corporations are not eligible for CSQ Funding. The only exception is Construction Workers in Local Councils who would like to do the following training courses:

  • RIIWHS204E - Work safely at heights

  • RIIHAN301E - Operate elevating work platform

  • RIIHAN308F - Load and unload plant

  • RIIWHS202E - Enter and work in confined spaces

  • RIIHAN309F - Conduct telescopic materials handler operations

The following list shows examples of Government Authorities or Government Owned Corporations whose workers are NOT eligible for CSQ Funding:
